How to Force Feed Animals in Ark
There is a remote feed option you can use to force feed them when unconscious.
Remote Use
it's near th bottom of their inventory screen.

When you access the dino's inventory, you will see both your's and dino inventory. The dino inventory looks like one box, not a grid like player inventory. Below the dino inventory(box), you will see buttons. One of them is remote use.
How to use remote use -- Move your berries to the dino's inventory, select the narco berry, and click remote use. You should see the dino's topor (on the right side of screen) with all the dino stats.

Holy crap I just about gave up on taming after 3 attempts and never saw that option. Latest attempt a level 3 Trike spawned inside my gates and I had him out with tranq arrows up to half tamed. Ran out of tranq arrows so pulled all berries except narc berries out of its inventory and the whole process reset. Boooo.

yes if a dino goes to eat while you have him down and he has no food he likes he wiull reset his tamed meter and start again at the lowered taming effectiveness.
Im new in game but I've got a lvl 19 trike very easy with tranq arrows, then placed a few narcoberries just in case we need to forcefeed a few of them, and like 450 stimberries (white), then added a stack of mejoberries, the taming bar fills very fast when he is hungry as he don't stop eating the mejoberries after last stimberry consumed, and the taming process already starts while the 450 stimberries are eaten (slower with those ones but is worth)
So I think that doing a massive collection of stimberries will be a MUST for more powerful dinos, im just lvl 21 and this trike is my "hardest" dino until now.

Sad attempt at necro.
stimberries will make the dino wake up, nothing more. You do not need them to tame a dino. Narcoberries and/or narcotics keep the dino knocked out (remote use them to keep his torpor high). Mejoberries, or any berry for that matter, is what the animal eats while it is knocked out and you do not have to remote use them; they eat them on their own.

it was removed - this is a necro'd post. just mouse over the berries and hit 'E' or right click for menu to 'remote use'
edit: berries need to be in dinos inventory not yours

..... probably best to create a new thread. This one was started near week 1 and many players were clueless on how the game worked. Just put the berries in the dinos inventory, hove the mouse over the berry and press 'E'

that's because you necro'd an old thread, the UI has changed, you can right click on the berries in their inventory and click use, or select it and press 'e'
